This is what I was thinking on my way to college ◎
When I went to college this morning, I was listening to one of my favorite songs and realized a certain thing.
A few months ago, I heard a interesting story when I was watching TV. It told that 千秋, a Japanese TV personality, never reads a story of Cinderella to her child because she believes that women's future happiness should not be determined by men and she wants her child to be independent. I recently knew that the phenomenon, many women tend to have been waiting for men who totally change their life wonderful, is called "Cinderella Complex." (cf. シンデレラコンプレックス, Cinderella complex)
What I realized while I was listening to the song was that the song is about this complex.
Here's the song, "Cinderella" by Tata Young.
I don't wanna be like Cinderella Sitting in a dark old dusty cellar Waiting for somebody to come and set me free I don't wanna be like Snow White, waiting For a handsome prince to come and save me On a horse of white, unless we're riding side by side Don't want to depend on no one else I'd rather rescue myself
