I restarted watching the DVDs of "UGLY BETTY" yesterday. (Until then, May 23rd was the last time that I watched some episodes of it as I blogged here. I was too lazy to use a rental video shop...) I really enjooy watching dramas in English.
Also, I enjoy reading paperbacks. On January 18th, 2009, I finished reading a paperback from cover to cover for the first time, and since then, I keep reading one though my reading speed is very slow. Today, I had my third paperback done. Mmmm, I wonder which book I'm gonna read next?
On this website, they explain some complex subjects in plain English so that we can easily understand what they actually are. I watched the video about "Podcast" last week. Although I had already known what Podcast was, I really enjoyed listening to the explanation.
Through those videos, not only we get to understand certain stuff, but we can also learn the techniques of explanation. There are so many tips for a good presentation. It would be a good practice to imitate those videos in order to be better at explaining something to people.
We can find topics in which we're interested by browsing on the website. We can also see videos in other four languages; French, German, Portuguese and Spanish.
"EVALUACIÓN OFICIAL DEL CONOCIMIENTO DE LA LENGUA ESPAÑOLA" Can you guess what it is? It's SEIKEN （西検 : スペイン語技能検定） in Japanese. (I don't know the official name of the test in English.)
I chose Spanish as 二外 when I got into the college, and I've been studying it for a couple of years. Since Spanish is quite different from English, it's very difficult for me to understand its grammar or pronunciation, but at the same time, it's interesting to know those differences and learn its complex system. I also love the Spanish rhythm. It's really cool.
Getting back to the point, I decided to take GRADE 6 in October. I've ever thought it's very difficult test (and actually it is for me though) but I had already learnt its basic grammar and it maybe worth challenging. According to the official announcement, SEIKEN GRADE 6 corresponds approximately to EIKEN GRADE 4. Now I have a specific goal, which motivates me to improve my Spanish!
Another month has begun and I feel refreshed. I guess it's kind of a good time for me to resume learning English like I used to do.
As for my aim of studying English for a couple of months, I've decided to take the EIKEN (GRADE PRE-1), which will be held on October 18th. I applied for it about an hour ago. OMG, now I can't say any excuses for my lazy days and I've gotta work hard to pass the exam.
And as I mentioned on the title of this entry, I'm gonna take one more test in October. I'll talk about this when I actually applied for it; maybe tomorrow.
